Enjoy NZ Music Month at Matatiki Hornby Centre!

Writing and recording an original composition. The workshop happens in 2 sessions and is a platform for you to let your creativity flow and present your creation on an open mic session at the end of the Month.

We will have an open mic session on Saturday May 31st to showcase works done on this workshop.

You will be booked to attend both sessions:
Saturday 10 May, 10am to 11:30am
Saturday 24 May, 10am to 11:30am

Facilitator: Marley Sola

Marley Sola began mellow studios in July 2021 with the intention of seeing artists, musicians and people with a passion for music succeed in life. With a decade of professional experience, Marley has a wealth of knowledge to share with his students. Highlights of his career include being signed with Sony Music NZ as a young songwriter, releasing music for his solo career under Warner Music NZ, competing in X-Factor New Zealand Season One with Moorhouse and singing on The Voice Australia Season 12 with Guy Sebastian. His experience includes songwriting, producing and releasing music (for himself and multiple other professional artists), creating music videos, TV appearances, broadcast singing competitions, TV and radio interviews, gigging and working alongside friends in the industry such as Rob Ruha, Vince Harder, Whenua Patuwai, Adeaze, Aaradhna, Ka Hao, Seth Haapu and David Ware. Marley is passionate about assisting other artists in their music journey project managing, producing, co-writing and mentoring countless young creatives, some of whom include Zoe Hunter, Hone Hurunui, Hannah May, KY, Thursday Collective, Evile Laloata, Ezra Neal, Harry Mohi and Kaea.
