NZ Photographers of Cultural Collections Forum 2025

NZ Photographers of Cultural Collections is a group of photographers and imaging professionals working across Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums across Aotearoa. We photograph cultural collections from paintings through to scientific specimens. And from intangible culture, through flat copy digitisation to 3D scanning. 

The forum is a chance to share knowledge and build professional networks kanohi ki te kanohi. It provides valuable professional development that is otherwise hard to come by for this specialised field. We specifically aim to help smaller institutions by democratising specialist knowledge and building a network of support across the country.

The event's success relies on the generosity of kaimahi from Te Papa Tongarewa, National Library and Archives NZ who donate their time and venues, keeping it low-cost for attendees. National Services Te Paerangi also provides partnership with administrative support, and travel support for eligible attendees. This year we have kindly been given the use of National Library Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa’s Auditorium Taiwhanga Kauhau, so the registration fee covers catering.
