NZTech - An Emissions Reduction Technology Roadmap for Aotearoa

This event has passed Register

Event description

Technology plays an important role in emissions reduction. In a recent survey, 95% of NZTech members rated the role technology can play in helping NZ achieve its climate change reduction goals as significant or useful.  A further 96% said a Technology Roadmap should form part of New Zealand’s Emission Reduction Plan (ERP).

The Government is working towards publishing the Aotearoa ERP in May. Last year, NZTech provided a submission during the consultation on the ERP and recommended that the Government includes a Technology Roadmap as an addendum. International evidence demonstrates that Technology Roadmaps are an important tool to reduce emissions.

Join the discussion on the importance of including technology in our ERP. Hear from NZTech’s team leading the work and hear how the work is progressing.  NZTech believes that establishing a Technology Roadmap provides the opportunity to drive cross-section and cross-agency collaboration, as well as supporting broader innovation and deployment of technology.

New Zealand has an important opportunity to follow-the-lead of countries making greater progress on reducing their carbon emissions via their Technology Roadmaps. Hear about international examples and share your insights on what is happening locally.

Speakers include:

  • Graeme Muller, CEO, NZTech
  • Mark Thomas, Founder & CEO, Serviceworks
  • Mitchell Pham, Chair of NZTech
