8th Annual Community Celebration: Liberation Sounds Like Us
Event description
Introduction
This year’s Annual Community Celebration marks eight years of Oasis’ unwavering advocacy, fighting for queer and trans immigrant liberation. At a time when ICE violence is constant and omnipresent, and where anti-LGBTQ+ laws continue to threaten the lives and safety of LGBTQ+ people in the U.S., gathering in joy is resistance in itself. As we face xenophobic and life-threatening policies, we turn to our community for strength, grounding ourselves in the power of celebration, culture, and connection.
We invite you to a beautiful evening of performances, talent, food, music, and community joy. Because liberation doesn’t just sound like defiance; it sounds like laughter, like music, like us. All of us.
Limited street parking is available near the venue. Paid parking is available at the YMCA Parking Garage within walking distance at 2353 Webster St. If you are taking public transportation, the venue is 3 blocks from the 19th St. BART station.
