Our June speaker is Natasha Daniels who will be talking about Recognizing OCD in Kids and Teens: Commonly Missed OCD Signs & Symptoms on Thursday 26th June 2025 @ 1pm AEST.

OCD affects 1 in 200 children, yet it remains one of the most commonly overlooked and misdiagnosed disorders. Many kids with OCD are mistakenly diagnosed with anxiety or ADHD, delaying the right support and treatment. In this talk, you’ll learn how to identify the key signs of OCD in children and teens, distinguish it from other common childhood challenges, and gain a deeper understanding of how OCD truly presents beyond stereotypes.

Natasha Daniels is an anxiety and OCD child therapist with over two decades of experience. She combines both her clinical expertise with her lived experience, raising her own three kids with anxiety and OCD.

She is the author of several books including Anxiety Sucks: A Teen Survival Guide, How to Parent Your Anxious Toddler, Social Skills Activities for kids, It’s Brave to Be Kind, The Grief Rock, Crushing OCD Workbook for Kids and her latest book, a memoir, Out of My Shell: Overcoming Social Anxiety from Childhood to Adulthood.

She is the creator of the website AT Parenting Survival, As well as the host to the show AT Parenting Survival Podcast and the Youtube channel, Ask the Child Therapist. Her work has been featured in various places including Huffington Post, PsychCentral, The Child Mind Institute and The Mighty.
