Dr Francisco Martinez-Baena (Project Restore) – Sydney Institute of Marine Science
Francisco Martinez-Baena is a Research Associate and Project Manager at the SydneyInstituteof Marine Science (SIMS). Currently Francisco leads a one-of-a-kind multi-habitat restoration project,Project Restore, where his pursuing his passion of restoring seascapes.
Dr Aaron Eger - Kelp Forest Alliance/ University of New South Wales
Dr. Aaron Eger is a marine scientist and conservation practitioner dedicated to protecting and restoring the world’s oceans. He is the Founder and Program Director of the Kelp Forest Alliance - a global initiative aiming to restore 4 million hectares of kelp forests by 2040.
Dr Chanelle Webster (PhD, Operation Posidonia) – University of New South Wales
Chanelle Webster became a true nerd of the ocean when working with seagrass for the first time in 2017. Her PhD focused on understanding about how these amazing plants will tolerate a changing environment
Dr Mitch Gibbs - University of Sydney (Oyster Reefs Recovery/Traditional Ecological Knowledge)
Mitchell is a proud Dunghutti man through kinship, and Lecturer and Postdoctoral Fellow at The University of Sydney in the Schools of Geosciences. From Indigenous traditional owners and knowledge holders, he learns about our environments and ways to manage those environments using shellfish-associated practices handed down through oral and lived histories and putting this into practice with Habitat restoration work with the Gamay Rangers and the La Perouse Local Aboriginal Land Council.
