Event description

Join Ocean Youth Ambassadors Angelique Greentree, Isla Campbell and Josh Farrant and UTS marine scientist Dr Emma Camp for a session that explores the wonders of the ocean, why many of us feel so connected to it, and why we need to inform ourselves on how we can support its health. Dr Emma Camp will share some of her important work with Dr Sylvia Earle, the world's most famous female marine scientist - named by LIFE Magazine as their first HERO OF THE PLANET. Video content will take us diving on the Great Barrier Reef, swimming in urban coral reefs in Singapore, and exploring baby coral at feeding time!

You will learn about the mystery of the deep sea and the critical role it plays in storing carbon, and why the ocean needs healthy coral reefs for its survival.

Join this engaging session, which will include a Q&A conversation and a chance for you to ask questions with the youth leaders and Dr Emma Camp. If you are an ocean lover and care about the health of our ocean, this session is for you!

Panellists:

🔹 Dr. Emma Camp (UTS) – Marine Scientist & Coral Researcher

🔹 Ocean Youth Ambassadors - Angelique Greentree (16), Isla Campbell (15), Josh Farrant (17)

MC: Liz Courtney – Award-winning filmmaker (Changing Ocean with Dr. Sylvia Earle).

Don’t miss this chance to hear from the next generation of ocean defenders!
