Oceania Futures Online 1 October 2025
Event description
Encouraging communities to imagine and enact regenerative futures
In this session Claire will take you through her (only just finished) PhD research that was focused on how we might encourage communities to imagine and enact regenerative futures. We will start by discussing the power that dominant narratives have on influencing the futures we imagine to be possible. Then Claire will take you through Narrative Futures Practice, a method that helps communities regain their sense of agency in participatory futuring. Through four analogies (the telescope, constellation, forest and campfire) Claire will share will this new research and how you can use it in community workshops to open up possible futures as well as to restore community connections, and increase confidence in enacting change.
