Event description

String and Bone have a Birthday and Oceanique come to Perth

It’s nearly time for Tim's band “String and Bone” to have a birthday. Yay! In the current configuration we’ll have been playing together for a year on Friday 25th July. By a mix of luck and good timing, the velvet voiced duo “Oceanique”, are in town to start their WA tour so to celebrate we have organised a concert at the beautiful Vic Hall right in the heart of Freo.

So beautiful soaring vocal harmonies and reflective melodies from Oceanique, catchy lyrics and funky riffs from String n Bone, plus a different venue with more room and the best audience since the last time we all played together . . . .

And here’s your invitation to be a part of it!

If you’re not convinced read on

Oceanique

Melbourne based twin sisters Maddy and Jess create music that blends heartfelt storytelling with seamless harmonies. The duo’s sound draws comparisons to the sibling harmonies of First Aid Kit and The Staves, combining folk traditions with warm, reflective melodies reminiscent of the vast country sky.

Since their debut in 2019, Oceanique has become a rising act in the Australian folk music scene. Highlights include winning Port Fairy Folk Festival’s ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ (2024) and Folk Alliance Australia’s ‘Youth Artist of the Year’ (2022). Their captivating live performances have graced renowned festivals such as the National Folk Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and Port Fairy Folk Festival as well as supporting celebrated artists, including The Waifs at Geelong Arts Centre.

String and Bone

This trio uses an eclectic collection of musical instruments and styles in an engagingly unique sound known as “Clonk” (Country/Blues/Folk/Funk fusion). Combining thought-provoking lyrical story telling with vocal harmonies, String and Bone are Australia’s leading Clonk band OK they’re the only Clonk band.  Quirky, funny, heartfelt and always interesting, they will leave you with happy ears, a warm feeling in your belly and catchy earworms rolling around in your brain long after the performance echoes fade away.

We haven’t won many awards . . . . but we’re still fun to listen to!
