Oct 13: 2-hour Public Sail Aboard Schooner Adventuress - Pay What You Can
Event description
Our Public Sails are designed to get everybody involved, and no sailing experience is required. They are a
perfect way to explore Puget Sound and learn about our unique marine environment while sailing aboard the historic
schooner Adventuress. From the moment we get under way you'll be invited to help raise the
sails or take a turn at the wheel. As we explore the Puget Sound/Salish Sea, the crew will explain it's unique
marine environment and share the history of Adventuress. Then listen to a sea chantey, a talk
from an on-board guest or crew member -- or just sit back and take in the whole experience.
Infants aged 0-1 are free, but must have a ticket. The US Coast Guard regulates exactly how many people
are on board, including infants and young children. Make sure you have a ticket for each person in your
party before boarding.
In 2024 we're introducing periodic 2-hour Pay What You Can Sails, which is also designed to better accommodate households with a variety of income levels. We are offering tickets for this sail using what's called a "mutual aid model." This helps to ensure inclusivity and equity for Sound Experience supporters and Adventuress lovers, regardless of their financial capability. We want everyone to have access to this extraordinary on-the-water National Historic Landmark sailing ship.
Here's how it works: If $5 is right for you, pay just that. If you have the means and want to further support this work, choose $50 or $250 or anything in-between. Or ... pay nothing at all.
