Oct 17 Ballard Locks Transit: 4-hour Public Transit Aboard Schooner Adventuress

Join us for a special 4-hour Public Transit through the Ballard Locks from Lake Union to Shilshole Bay Marina aboard the historic schooner Adventuress. Whether you're a maritime enthusiast, a history lover, or simply looking for a memorable way to experience the locks, this special sail offers an unforgettable look into a unique waterway.

Our Public Transits are designed to get everybody involved, and no sailing experience is required. They are a perfect way to explore Puget Sound and learn about our unique marine environment while being aboard the historic schooner Adventuress. As we explore Lake Union, Lake Washington Canal, Salmon Bay, the Ballard Locks and Shilshole, the crew will share knowledge about the marine environment and share the history of Adventuress. Then listen to a sea chantey, a talk from an on-board guest or crew member -- or just sit back and take in the whole experience.

Important Notes:

• The duration of the transit is not fixed due to the variability of traffic in the locks but is expected to conclude between 5pm-6pm.

• Plan to have someone pick you up or use your favorite ride share app to get back to your car if you park at Lake Union Park (6.5 miles). This is a one-way transit, please make arrangements to get back to where you need to go!

• We'll provide coffee, tea and cookies from the galley. You are encouraged to bring a picnic-style snacks/dinner, non-alcoholic beverages and sunscreen for yourself and any guests. But those views!

• Infants aged 0-1 are free, but must have a ticket. The US Coast Guard regulates exactly how many people are on board, including infants and young children. Make sure you have a ticket for each person in your party before boarding.
