October GLAM Networking Breakfast

Event description

Join us for our last 2024 GLAM Networking Breakfast.

GLAM breakfasts are open to everyone interested in galleries, libraries, archives and museums, so grab a colleague and book yourselves a spot. Booking close will on Wednesday 2 October, to allow food orders to be sent to the Golden Wattle. We now ask breakfast attendees to pay for their breakfast in advance when booking a ticket, to ensure The Golden Wattle are not out-of-pocket for no-shows. Drinks available for purchase on arrival.

Our October speaker will be Tully Barnett, Associate Professor in Creative Industries in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and Director of Assemblage Centre for Creative Arts at Flinders University. Her research areas include cultural policy, cultural value and digital humanities. She is a Chief Investigator for the ARC Special Research Initiative titled ‘“Slow” digitisation, community heritage and the objects of Martindale Hall’. One of the project’s outputs, a full-sized 3D twin of the historic mansion’s Smoking Room, was recently unveiled during South Australia's History Festival. Tully will tell us more about this project which investigates how community history, heritage, and cultural collections can be better preserved and made accessible through slow digitisation techniques.
