October Jazz Jam - The Nod
Description
Our October monthly Jazz Club Night is the first Thursday of the month, held at The Barn, behind the Honest Lawyer at 1 Point Road, Stoke.
Our Featured band, The NOD, is making its debut performance.
The instrumental trio comprises Fraser Campbell on bass, Lenny Chick on drums and Charlie Bladon on keys.
Blending jazz adjacent compositions with hip hop and D&B rhythms, the trio maintains the improvisational freedom of jazz. The interplay between the keys, heavy basslines and drums creates atmospheric grooves that bridge older jazz traditions with the sensibilities of modern genres.
The guest band will play for about an hour and then the floor is open for a jam session, with the Guest Band being available to support jamming artists.
Our aim is to increase performance space and diversity of jazz within our community. We also seek to foster a greater appreciation of jazz and expand our local jazz community.
