October Second Saturday

All ages are invited to spend a beautiful morning at Gamble Garden. This month’s theme is soil and we’ll be honoring Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. Visit our “soil by feel” education station and learn about home composting.

Second Saturday is free and includes activities such as:

• Soil by feel” education station

• A home composting demonstration

• Scavenger hunts

• Craft stations: paper pots, planting seeds, and painting pots

• Small selection of plants available for sale

• A visit to Elizabeth’s house

• Guided tours

This month’s community partners include:

• Casa Circulo Cultural – A grassroots, community-based multidisciplinary art organization dedicated to creating bilingual arts, cultural, and educational programming reflective of the experiences of the San Francisco Bay Area Latino communities.

• GreenWaste of Palo Alto – A team of recyclers and innovators working to reimagine your resources.

• Green Latinos – A national non-profit of Latino leaders fighting for political, economic, cultural, and environmental liberation in the Latino community.

• UC Master Gardeners – University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources shares science-based information and practices to improve lives and livelihoods. Extending UC’s world-class research beyond the system’s 10 campuses, we provide expertise and foster partnerships across all 58 counties in California to help meet your needs in agriculture and natural resources, wildfire resilience, environmental stewardship, food systems and nutrition, and youth and community development.

Register for one of three timed entry slots: 10:00, 10:30, or 11:00 AM. When you arrive, stop by one of our two Welcome Tables to check in and get started on the morning’s tours and activities.

Second Saturday is free and appropriate for all ages. Register for timed entry at 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, or 11:00 AM. All Second Saturday guests, when you arrive, please check in at one of our two Welcome Tables in order to enjoy the Second Saturday tours and special activities.
