About this Event
Transport Optimisation

In the current economy, Supply Chain reliability and Transport Network efficiency are more important than they have ever been.

In this SIRF workshop, Alan Dormer, Opturion Managing Director, will outline the application of Opturion technology to transport optimisation. He will refer to several successful case studies, including where customers have used Opturion's unique capability to do real-time optimisation of their transport networks.

Real-time optimisation starts with real-time information on your resources and what needs to be done. In a transport setting, this means knowing where your fleet is (GPS), the status of each job (assigned to a driver, picked up, delivered), and potentially information such as the driver's last break, driver's earning far, etc. A real-time optimisation system can improve multiple KPIs: it can reduce cost, improve customer service, increase the capacity to take on more work, or others depending on company transport aims.

Opturion is a dynamic 'optimisation' engine that utilises artificial intelligence to provide intelligent decision support. Opturion's technology is revolutionising how decisions are made in transport, logistics manufacturing and maintenance. The unique 2nd generation 'optimisation' technology that utilises artificial intelligence makes it possible to ensure compliance, reduce cost, and improve customer service and productivity. In addition, their technology is easy to use, easy to integrate in applications, and capable of efficiently tackling challenging future optimisation problems.

Opturion is a spin-out of CSIRO Data61, Monash University and The G12 Project. Opturion's modelling software provides state-of-the-art definitions and solutions to many well-studied scheduling problems that can benefit many businesses.

This workshop will help give you an understanding of their application in transport optimisation and how this could be applied to improve your business.
