Event description

Off the Grid Retreat

Blue Mountains - 3 days to disconnect and reconnect

Step away from the city and immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the Blue Mountains. Off the Grid is

a 3-day, 2-night hiking and camping retreat, designed for young adults who want to blend adventure,

rest, and community in a Shabbat-friendly environment.

Unlike our recent past retreats where we slept indoors, this retreat we sleep in tents under the stars.

Spend your days exploring river, valley and mountain trails, evenings around glowing campfires and

nights in tents under the wide-open sky.

Our last retreat sold out and this small group offering will sell out too! Come solo or bring a friend

– you’re sure to leave feeling refreshed and connected.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Friday: Arrival & River Walk

  • Welcome at Euroka Campsite and camp set-up.

  • A gentle 2 km walk down to the Nepean River before Shabbat begins, setting the tone for a weekend away from the rush of the city.

  • Shabbat candle lighting, communal dinner, and gathering around the campfire beneath the stars.

Day 2 - Saturday: Red Hands Cave & Jellybean Pool

Our biggest day of exploration, combining challenge, culture, and reflection.

  • 14 km hike through valleys and mountain trails with scenic landscapes.

  • Visit to Red Hands Cave, a sacred site with Aboriginal art over 500 years old.

  • Time to rest and refresh with a swim in Jellybean Pool, a stunning natural waterhole.

  • Food and water stations provided along the trail, as the route is outside the eruv.

  • Evening return to camp, kosher dinner, and a campfire with songs, stories, and space for community connection.
