Office Etiquette Training
Event description
Office Etiquette Training Outline
Identify and differentiate office behaviors
The first step in Office Etiquette training is a deceptively simple one; to identify acceptable and unacceptable behaviors within the social context of the workplace; deceptive, as some learners will be unaware that one or the other is good or bad within the context of the workplace until it is handily pointed out by our highly professional proctors and experts. Once this is done, learners will be made to learn the how’s and whys of these behaviors using a mix of simple lectures to demonstrations to help illustrate the benefits or potential for disruption these behaviors present.
Demonstrate proficiency in using devices for social interaction
Thanks to technology, the world has gotten smaller and with that reduction in size comes the demand for proficiency in operating new technology. Those undertaking Office Etiquette Training are taught to see these new technologies as just another instance of social interaction with certain limitations imposed on them such as lack of visual feedback when using traditional telephones, or slow responses from correspondence online. Learners will gain insight into using certain strategies and tactics to improve their ability to conduct social interactions through these devices, with the intended goal of creating a system for them that allows them to regularly conduct these interactions appropriately.
Learn how to work with difficult people
Working with uncooperative individuals, whether as coworkers, employees, employers, or clients, is a detrimental but common aspect of everyday life in the workplace. While learners undertaking Office Etiquette training may be aware of this fact, it will be up to them, with help from our trainers and experts in relevant fields to construct a system that will allow our learners to work with uncooperative people and give them further tactics to cooperatively work in spite of, or in concert with their difficult peers in any context, while remaining as courteous as possible.
Create tactics to combat procrastination
The workplace is a place for work; it’s even part of the name. However, there will be instances and occasions where one may lack motivation or capacity to do so. This uncooperative behavior is frowned upon in the workplace, and can prove to be detrimental for both the individual and the organisation they work for in the long run. Participants of Office Etiquette are given methods and strategies to combat this lack of motivation and with a bit of practice and opportunity to practice these lessons within a workplace setting, it is hoped that these lessons will prove useful in combating procrastinating behaviors.
Develop methods to improve Professionalism in the workplace
We teach participants about Professionalism. We discuss how professionalism isn’t just carefully studied behaviors and attitudes that one has toward the workplace at large but is also a philosophy, an attitude, a frame of mind where the individual knows of and is aware of how they are part of a company much larger than themselves. We discuss how participants are to operate within the bounds of that organisation to the best of their ability as in doing so would only further themselves as indispensable assets within the workplace and improve the workplace around them with their mere presence. Learners undertaking Office Etiquette training will be taught this ‘part of something great’ way of looking at their employment and is hoped will foster a positive and professional attitude with them that they can take back to their workplace and improve upon once their training is complete.
