Celebrate the official opening and warming of OFRENDA – La vida y la muerte with an evening of visual art, performance, music, food and mezcal.

Featuring works from more than 20 visual artists based both in Mexico and across the diaspora, a collaborative community altar, and a rich program of music and dance, this special night invites you to share in the vibrancy of our cultures, identities, and histories through art and storytelling.

Doors open at 5pm for a 6pm start.

All artwork will be for sale, with all profits returned to artists.

Food & Drinks:

Each ticket includes one complimentary traditional beverage with more available on the night.
Delicious Mexican food available for purchase.

Tickets:
Cempoaxochitl Arts Collective is a small, community-based, volunteer-run not-for-profit. All proceeds support event costs, and we warmly welcome any additional donations.

Free for Mob tickets are reserved for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. If the general admission price isn’t accessible, please contact us for a discounted ticket.

Companion cards are accepted for support persons.

Accessibility:

There will be seating available on opening night throughout the venue. Specific venue accessibility information is available via Vacant Assembly's website. This is a BIPOC and Queer curated space and we will be prioritising the comfort and safety of our communities.

OFRENDA continues until Monday 3 November, with a special Community Day on Sunday 2 November (reservations required).

OFRENDA is presented by Cempoaxochitl Arts Collective, in collaboration with LatinOZ and the local Mexican community. As visitors, migrants and immigrants living in so-called ‘Australia’ we acknowledge that this event takes place on unceded Aboriginal lands, and pay our respect to the Yuggera and Turrbal peoples as the custodians of Country , and the first artists of these lands.

Celebra con nosotros la inauguración oficial de OFRENDA – La vida y la muerte con una noche de arte visual, música en vivo, comida y mezcal.

Con obras de más de 20 artistas visuales radicados tanto en México como en la diáspora. Se presentará un altar comunitario, además de un rico programa que incluye música y danza. En esta noche especial te invitamos a compartir la vitalidad de nuestras culturas, identidades e historias a través del arte y la narrativa.

Las puertas se abren a las 5 p.m. para comenzar a las 6 p.m.
