OI Engagement Skills Workshop 2026

Developed to assist Robson and Robertson Award applicants with presentations at various events throughout the year, the skills developed in these workshops are highly relevant for communicating research to a wider audience. This 2 hour workshop will focus on the development of skills relevant to verbal presentations, grant writing, and networking.

While R&R applicants are the focus of this workshop, it is open to UWA students and staff, and will be beneficial to anyone who would like to improve their engagement and presentation skills.

Presenter: Professor Jessica Meeuwig

Dr Jessica Meeuwig is a Professor of Marine Science at the University of Western Australia, the inaugural Wen Family Chair in Conservation, OI Member, and Affiliate Faculty at the University of British Columbia. Her ability to communicate research strategy and needs is reflected in her appointment to multiple international ocean advisory boards. Resources are critical and based on her vision, Jessica has raised $46million to support ocean research, underpinned by her scientific publications.
