Event description

Curbing Australia’s escalating nature crisis - what should reasonable people demand of our leaders?

In this public lecture, Professor Wintle will examine how, despite our dependence on nature for every aspect of our health, wellbeing and prosperity, the average abundance of native animals and plants is declining at 2% per year. Our national expenditure on nature is less than a tenth of what is needed to prevent extinctions and conserve the ecosystems that sustain us.

Professor Wintle will propose a shortlist of things reasonable people should demand of new governments, and things businesses and the public can do to help bend the curve for nature.
