Oíche ar son Gaza
Event description
The Irish National Association (INA) invites to to join us at the Gaelic Club in leading the support from the Irish community for the people of Gaza who are suffering famine and devastation to their healthcare system, water supply, education, and other basic rights. The Irish people know the story of famine from our history and it is not right that starvation can be used as a weapon of war in this day and age. Join a selection of the best Irish traditional musicians to support UN agencies who are attempting to deliver aid in Gaza.
The night will kick off with music by Black & White Pudding, The Bottlers, and Steve Powell (Celtic Tones) & Lenny Duff (The Dub Connection), followed by an open traditional Irish session with Rohan Merill, Flat2themat, Jade Tinkler and many other amazing musicians - a night of craic agus ceol is guaranteed! Doors at 6:30. Music from 7pm.
All entrants before 9:30pm will be entered into a raffle for artwork kindly donated by Michael McDonnell.
Donations will be shared between UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund - delivering aid to maternal health services). Sadly, UNICEF reports that more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured in Gaza to date. They need support now more than ever.
Tickets to attend are limited and we ask you to make a donation of minimum $20 dollars when ordering your ticket.
If you cannot make it on the night but wish to make a donation please donate at https://gazacrisis.unicef.org.au/o-ar-son-gaza (not necessary to buy event ticket).
