Event description

Ojo de Dios Workshop with Lizette Vieyra

Join artist Lizette Vieyra for a three-week workshop learning how to make Ojo de Dios, and exploring their cultural significance.

The Ojo de Dios (or Eye of God) is an amulet of power and protection, with each having their own special purpose, such as for healing or bringing abundance.

Using a variety of yarns, weaved around a central cross, we will create our own amulets in these workshops, introducing different and more intricate patterns as we progress.

Creating your own Ojo de Dios is a spiritual practice. As our hands move to entwine the threads, our minds find refuge in the stillness of the process. Immersing ourselves in an activity that gives us serenity and focus, we are able to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

These workshops will take place over three weeks, with each week introducing more intricate designs and construction methods.

Both adults and children will find lots to enjoy in these workshops!
