Spring gathering at Old Man Sun

A special community collaboration for our next Seasonal Gathering at Old Man Sun.
Travelling down from the Yarra Valley are our good friends, and epic talents, Doug and Mei. Doug of Mise En Place wines will be pouring his wines alongside us in cellar door, while Meiwa brings with her a 3-piece band and some funk and soul tunes for the afternoon.
Pairing with the wines, Red Hill local Belle of Finns Oyster bar will be shucking fresh Sydney Rock oysters to order. Keep an eye out for curated toppings, matched to the drinks on the day.
Rounding out the community vibes will Sam from Hop Nation, back by popular demand to pour Melbourne Black's on tap.
Your ticket includes a choice of drink and 3 oysters. BYO picnics are still welcome so settle in for the afternoon,
As part of the #shuckdontchuck shell recycling initiative all oyster shells will be saved to regenerate the oyster reefs of Port Philip Bay.
Kids welcome as always but please leave pets at home for this event. (no need to purchase tickets for kids, just let us know approx numbers in your booking).

Meiwa
Meiwa is a Canadian Folk/R&B singer-songwriter based in Naarm/Melbourne, known for thoughtful lyrics, genre-blending sound and a voice that radiates compassion and clarity. Her debut album Let Go & Grow earned a 2016 Western Canadian Music Award nomination for Urban Artist of the Year. She has released music including Wonder, Waiting, Eire and her sophomore album Surface Tension, alongside international touring. Meiwa has shared stages with reggae legends including Ken Boothe, Leroy Sibbles, Barrington Levy and Lee “Scratch” Perry, and performed at WOMADelaide, Woodford Folk Festival and Byron Bay Blues Fest as a backing vocalist.
