Old Plates Birthday Week! Saturday 16th Disco Party with Goldie & Manchild

Everybody's favourite bar/record store Old Plates is celebrating their 3rd birthday with a full week of live music and revelry. Starting Monday August 11th, seven of Melbourne's finest bands are playing intimate shows across the week, with each night recorded by audio wizard Myles Mumford (Rolling Stock Recording Rooms).   The recordings will then be turned into 7 x 7" records, the beginning of Old Plates as a record label. Each night will have very limited tickets available, a rare opportunity to experience incredible bands in an intimate setting and actually be a part of the recording.  Applaud and you'll be a part of the 7" for all posterity!  

Saturday there is a super secret band playing from 8pm. We can't quite announce this one yet but trust us, it will be killer! Then Miss Goldie and DJ Manchild take over as Old Plates transforms into a 1970s modern-soul and funk discotheque for the birthday blowout we all deserve.  For over 20 years Goldie and Manchild have been coming together to turn out dancefloors from being founders of the Soul-A-Go-Go parties to playing the closing set of Strawberry Fields for over a decade, not to mention their long running involvements with PBS FM.   These two DJ legends shoulder to shoulder, all night is the perfect way to shake it loose and celebrate three years of Old Plates. There may be cake.
