Old Plates Birthday Week! Thursday 14th with Every Day Carry
Event description
Everybody's favourite bar/record store Old Plates is celebrating their 3rd birthday with a full week of live music and revelry. Starting Monday August 11th, seven of Melbourne's finest bands are playing intimate shows across the week, with each night recorded by audio wizard Myles Mumford (Rolling Stock Recording Rooms). The recordings will then be turned into 7 x 7" records, the beginning of Old Plates as a record label. Each night will have very limited tickets available, a rare opportunity to experience incredible bands in an intimate setting and actually be a part of the recording. Applaud and you'll be a part of the 7" for all posterity!
Thursday we welcome Every Day Carry, the brainchild of Laneous and Daniel Merriweather and a staple at Old Plates. Four musicians embark on a 99% improvised neo-soul journey, taking you careering through the cosmos of your mind and finding a peace within every moment and beat. Self-taught, prodigious and naively fearless, the multi-instrumentalist and songwriting powerhouse that is Laneous is often described as your favourite musician's favourite musician. Daniel with a long line of credits in his pocket, overseas with the likes of Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse & Burna Boy, now resides back In Naarm. This is a new project that started at Old Plates and this will be their first release
Please note: ETA for 7" is approx 12 weeks, cost includes shipping within Australia
