Beginners Olive control workshop
Event description
Got olives but not sure where to start? This workshop is for people beginning their Olive control journey.
An experienced weed controller will demonstrate methods of herbicide application to kill olive trees of different forms and ages. Methods will be provided for a range of situations, including sensitive natural vegetation areas and open grazing land. Demonstrations will include conventional applications of ādrill and fillā, ācut and swabā and ābasal bark applicationā.
Please bring gloves and hand secateurs if you have them to participate in practicing olive control techniques.
Access to the site is over steep uneven terrain, please advise us if you will require assistance.
Time: Arrive 9:45 for aĀ 10 am start
Cost: Free
What to wear: sturdy footwear, sun protection, long pants and sleeves. Please bring gloves and hand secateurs if you have them to participate in practicing olive control techniques. Bring a drink bottle, especially if it looks warm.
There are free take home swab bottles for all participants who attend.
