Olive Me, Olive You : From Langhorne Creek to the Mediterranean
Event description
Part of Langhorne Creek's annual Cellar Treasures festival, this unique food and wine experience will take you on a journey through the Mediterranean!
On Saturday 9 August, Langhorne Creek is teaming up with Olive Restaurant to share everything we love about the Mediterranean. Throughout the night, chefs Callum Hann and Themis Chryssidis will demonstrate how to cook dishes from Olive's Mediterranean-inspired menu while you discover eight fascinating Mediterranean grape varieties grown in our very own backyard of Langhorne Creek. Our winemakers will be there to explain why we love these varieties, why they thrive in Langhorne Creek and why we think they will play a big role in the future of the Australian wine industry.
Hosted by wine industry personality Katie Spain, who shares our love for all things Mediterranean, this is sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience. Think crisp Pecorino (the white wine, not the cheese), textured Fiano, bright and juicy Nero d'Avola, delicious Montepulciano and much more!
In true Mediterranean style, this shared four-course meal will be warm, casual and comfortable - the perfect way to spend a night with family and friends.
Produce from Langhorne Creek will be incorporated into the menu while seasonal fruits, vegetables, condiments and flowers will be displayed in the region's very own roadside produce stall. There will also be giveaways and prize draws on the night, including the chance to win a weekend stay in Langhorne Creek.
* please note that this event will be held at Sprout Cooking School, not Olive Restaurant *
This event is supported by the South Australian Government through the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
