Olive Tree Care and Pruning Workshop

Event description

Producing delicious olive oil or table olives starts with growing healthy trees. In this workshop you will learn about the anatomy and growth habits of olives, when and why to prune and pruning techniques to maximise production. We'll also show you how to recognise olive tree problems, pests and diseases and manage them effectively.

This workshop will be presented by Ceilidh Meo, Chief Soil Steward at Apulia Grove, a family owned and operated mixed farm in central Victoria. The farm focuses on producing pasture raised eggs and olives. Since 2009, she has extended her knowledge of how to make award winning extra virgin olive oil to other small growers via the farm’s small batch olive oil processing service.
