OLS-NASA Nebula Program

Program overview

The OLS-NASA Nebula program is a comprehensive 6-week open science training program. The program integrates practical training with individual coaching, supporting participants to apply open science principles, skills, and tools in their work.

Who is this training for?

The Nebula program is designed for participants at any career stage: researchers, research-supporting staff, and people who want to integrate best practices for open and reproducible research in new or ongoing projects. It is of particular interest to individuals or teams seeking to develop or improve an Open Science strategy or Data Management plan for their research.

Training format and content

The program covers NASA's Open Science 101 Curriculum. Each week, we explore one open science module, with expert speakers from diverse scientific domains guiding hands-on learning. Synchronous training sessions take place on Zoom, twice a week. The sessions are delivered in English. Individual participants or teams meet with an expert for personalized feedback on their work.

Participants will share a short presentation on their work as a graduation requirement. Upon graduation, participants receive a digital badge certifying their completion of NASA’s Open Science 101 curriculum. 

The expected time commitment for this training is 4 h per week.

Key dates

Our next offering will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning October 22, 2024, until November 28, 2024. Sessions are scheduled at 16:00 - 17:30 (UTC). 

Pricing

The prices listed are per ticket. We offer discounted rates for teams and organizations purchasing multiple tickets together. To qualify for a bundle discount, you must purchase at least the minimum number of tickets required for each bundle. 

• Individual rate: $900 USD per ticket
• Team bundle: $600 USD per ticket (minimum purchase of 3 tickets, ideal for small teams or organizations)
• Organization bundle: $400 USD per ticket (minimum purchase of 10 tickets, ideal for larger organizations aiming to provide training to multiple community members)

Fee waivers

Fee waivers are available for a limited number of participants. Please complete this short fee waiver request form.

We review requests on a rolling basis. The last day to request a waiver for our upcoming cohort is October 7, 2024.
