Omniversal Hum: Tetuzi Akiyama, Debris Facility, Yunzero (dj)
Event description
Omniversal Hum presents the iconic boogie-noise-guitar-fracture-blues-free-music-sound-master Tetuzi Akiyama (JPN) with support from Debris Facility on cracked and expanded turntable and Yunzero on recorded music selection.
Tetuzi Akiyama operates at the knife’s edge of minimalism and raw, tactile expression. Whether channeling delta blues through cracked repetition or reducing electric guitar to a whispering drone, his playing exists in a state of perpetual unravelling—an excavation of texture, silence, and decay. Akiyama’s improvisations often embrace the inherent instability of sound, foregrounding resonance over narrative, gesture over structure. Across collaborations with artists like Oren Ambarchi, Toshimaru Nakamura, and Tom Carter, he has navigated territories from onkyo restraint to scorched-earth feedback, always maintaining a singular, idiosyncratic attack. His work suggests an ongoing interrogation of form itself—where tradition collapses under the weight of its own history, leaving only the trace of a chord, the scrape of a string, or the lingering hum of an amplifier breathing in an empty room.
