On Board at LUNAR Studios: Styling, Sets and Still Life + BRING YOUR IMAGES TO LIFE
Description
Styling, Still Life and Set Design
A strong image is never just about the camera.
It’s the surface you choose. The colour in the background. The object in the corner. The texture of the fabric. The way a prop, a chair, a flower, a glass, a shadow or a piece of wardrobe can completely change how an image feels.
Styling, still life and set design are what give an image its world. They create mood, context and visual tension before the subject even steps into frame. They can make an image feel polished, nostalgic, strange, luxurious, playful, intimate or cinematic.
For this session of On Board with LUNAR Studios, we’ll explore how image makers build the world inside the frame. How do you turn a simple setup into something that feels considered? How do you choose props that add meaning instead of clutter? How do colour, texture, shape, space and styling work together to make an image feel alive?
This session is about the details that carry the feeling of a shoot. The things that happen before the shutter is pressed. The ingredients that help transform a blank space into a scene with atmosphere, intention and character.
Expect a relaxed industry night with conversation, practical examples and a closer look at how photographers, videographers, stylists and art directors approach the visual language of a set.
Whether you shoot portraits, product, fashion, food, interiors, social content or campaign work, this session will help you think more clearly about what you place in front of the camera, and why it matters.
How the night runs
We’ll start with a short welcome and introduction to the On Board with LUNAR Studios series, then move into a conversation around styling, still life and set design: how the small decisions inside a frame can change the entire feeling of an image.
From there, we’ll look at practical examples of how visual worlds are built: props, surfaces, colours, textures, wardrobe, objects, negative space, composition and light. The goal is to unpack how an image becomes more than just a subject in front of a camera.
There will be time to mingle, ask questions, meet other creatives, and discuss how these ideas apply across portrait, product, fashion, food, interiors, social content and campaign work.
What to expect
Expect a relaxed industry night at LUNAR Studios with conversation, practical insight and real examples of how styling and set design shape the final image.
This is not a technical gear demo. It’s about the thinking behind the frame: what gets included, what gets removed, what details matter, and how image makers create atmosphere before the camera even comes out.
Selected Sony gear will be available on the night, but the focus will be on the creative process and how the ingredients inside the frame work together.
Who it’s for
This session is for photographers, videographers, stylists, art directors, content creators and image makers who want their work to feel more considered and complete.
It’s especially relevant if you shoot portraits, product, fashion, food, interiors, social content or campaign work, and want to better understand how styling, props, texture, colour and space can lift the final image.
You don’t need to be a stylist. You just need to care about making stronger images.
Why come?
Because the best images rarely happen by accident.
The subject matters. The light matters. But so does everything around them.
A chair can change the story. A surface can change the tone. A prop can make an image feel intentional, or make it fall apart completely.
This session is about learning to see those details before you shoot, so your images feel more alive, more polished and more deliberate.
