Event description

On Country professional’s webinar was designed to support our professional community and explore key issues for First Nations financial wellbeing. The webinar also offers an opportunity to chat with First Nations Foundation staff and other professionals.

On this month's webinar we have special guest Eddie Buli, Relationship Manager - Unions at Australian Retirement Trust.

Eddie is a proud Indigenous man. His mother’s family is Torres Strait Islander (Erub, Darnley Island and Moa, St Paul), Parama Island south coast of Papua New Guinea (Sobogu Clan), South Sea Islander (Rotuma, Noumea New Caledonia) and Kingston, Jamaica. Eddie's father’s family is German and Aboriginal (Mungkan Kaanju, Wik Waya and Kugu people, Central/Western Cape York). He was born in Gordonvale and lived on his grandparent's cane farm in Pine Creek (East Trinity) between Gordonvale and Yarrabah before his family moved into Cairns. Eddie began his role early September 2021 as the dedicated Relationship Manager – Unions based in Cairns and is responsible for North and Far North Qld regions.

Eddie holds a Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Indigenous Primary Health Care), a Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling), and has over 25 years’ experience working in non‐government organisations and government departments involved with Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland, Cape York Peninsula and the Torres Strait Islands. During his time with the Indigenous Consumer Assistance Network (ICAN) as the Business Development Officer he co‐developed the Yarnin’ Money financial literacy program.

In 2022, Sunsuper merged with QSuper to become one super fund, called Australian Retirement Trust (ART). ART may be new, but they're already one of Australia's largest super funds. ART takes care of more than $260 billion in retirement savings for 2.3 million members. Together, they have 140 years of combined experience.
