Evening urban wetland walk. "On Country" with Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation and BirdLife Australia.
Event description
Join Elders from Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation and Ben Humphries from BirdLife Australia for an evening exploring country at the wetland in David Winterbottom Park- Wodonga. Prior to the urbanisation of Wodonga, Huon Creek was an important resource area. This cultural and ecological walk (formed paths in flat terrain) will help you understand the influence that the natural landscape has on the lifestyle of Traditional Owners. David Winterbottom Park is adjoined by Huon Creek and its wetland and gives walkers a unique perspective on the importance of waterways as resource areas to Traditional Owners and  the continuing strong culture and spiritual connection to the land.
Meet at the shelter in David Winterbottom Park near Yarralumla Drive - see google map.
Please park along the roadside by Yarralumla Drive.
