CEC’s new 2025 Position Statement on Preventing and Responding to Maltreatment of Children with Disabilities offers essential guidance for creating safe, inclusive learning environments. This three-part webinar series introduces key elements of the statement and provides practical strategies educators and professionals can use to recognize signs of maltreatment, understand risk factors, and strengthen safety practices in schools. Participants will also explore tools from the CEC Bright Spots website.

Whether you're a classroom teacher, specialist, support staff, administrator, or parent, this training will provide insights you can use right away to make a real difference for the children you work or live with. Each session focuses on how to understand, recognize trauma, record signs, and intervene.

Each session is approximately 60 - 75 minutes long. Registration is for all three sessions. You will receive a link to each recorded session as well as links to all of the handouts and resources talked about in the video.
