Toongabbie Legal Centre Inc (TLC)

Founded in 2007 by solicitor Mr. Susai Benjamin, Toongabbie Legal Centre Inc is a pioneering community-based legal centre serving Western Sydney's most vulnerable populations. Operating under thedistinguished patronage of Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW,TLC delivers free legal assistance to economically, socially, and culturally disadvantaged individualswho cannot access NSW Legal Aid or afford private legal representation.

Our services include legal advice, community education, advocacy for reform, and programsaddressing key community needs. Through initiatives like Keep Families Safe, GambleAware, and Safeand Fair Workplaces, we address domestic violence, gambling addiction, and workplace exploitation inmigrant communities.

TLC operates from two locations, Toongabbie and Blacktown providing services Thursday eveningsand Saturday mornings. Our volunteer-driven team comprises solicitors, migration agents, lawstudents, social workers, and specialists in finance, IT and education, delivering culturally sensitivesupport across diverse communities.

Despite receiving no recurring government funding, TLC has expanded services through strategicpartnerships with organizations like MECA, Catholic Care, ACU and Blacktown City Council. Ourinnovative approach includes legal clinics, pop-up services, and free community legal educationseminars, directly addressing access-to-justice barriers in Western Sydney's multicultural landscape.
