Doors open 9am for a 9.30am start until 4 pm
Nourish your soul, nurture your mental health and share some emotional wellbeing by connecting with our one day retreat at the jewel of Stradbroke Island, Point Lookout and the Hall which bakcs onto Home Beach.
Nourish your body with vegetarian cuisine onsite, whilst we nourish your soul with our wellbeing program of workshops; movement and meditation, sound and ceremony, healing arts market and real food.

Maybe you have never been to the island before or come to the island regularly. With North Stradbroke Island being so close to Brisbane, your opportunity to nourish your soul, nurture your mental health and share some emotional wellbeing is just a boat ride away.
Whether you have a regular wellbeing practice or are just beginning this is an opportunity to indulge in what you might not have had time to explore, but are interested in experiencing.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
We are island residents, artisans, meditation and yoga teachers, healers and friends. In addition to the wellbeing activities on offer, we also give you the opportunity to indulge in a buffet lunch of vegetarian cuisine and healing arts market. Gluten and dairy-free food is our specialty.
Ours is a seasonal program. We are excited to co-create this event with our regulars and have tailored a day that will leave you feeling good. Our theme for July 12, One Day Retreat is Winter. A time to draw inwards, reflect and integrate deep healing.
We offer both young people and adults young at heart an opportunity to gather on island with like minded people. Our aim is to build a wellbeing community on the island.

LOCAL PRESENTERS with whom we work :
- Jo Fay Duncan: Jo Fay Duncan works to heal both people and the planet emotionally and spiritually with her practice which is embedded in deep listening to nature. Founder of the magical island Lines in the Sand nature art festivals (2009-14), Duncan with her peers, friends and colleagues co-creates a unique series of One Day Retreats throughout 2025, embracing each season from late summer to summer.
- Moira Moodley: Introducing a global palette of flavors and seasonal tastes, Moira Moodley enhances our island well-being retreats with her belief in permaculture and nature's innate guidance.
- Josephine Ellis: With over two decades of collaboration with Jo Fay Duncan and contributions to island festivals like Island Vibe, Josephine Ellis weaves magic into our team, uniting exceptional island-based healing and well-being practitioners.
- Clara Durbidge: Clara is a visionary in the realms of sound, known as a song catcher, frequency weaver, and avant-garde sound artist.
- Lisa Iselin: Specialist in therapeutic movement, Lisa Iselin blends shiatsu, Thai massage, and osteopathic techniques with yoga, Pilates, myofascial release, and functional range conditioning to enhance physical mobility and mental well-being. She also leads partner massage workshops aimed at soothing the nervous system and releasing bodily tension.
- Lisa Behan: Lisa's artistic practice includes installations, journalling, nature and digital art. She has been engaging in contemplative practices for more than 30 years and believes that fostering a personal connection with nature through mindful creative processes improves wellbeing and builds mental resilience. She loves to share these experiments which use simple techniques, particularly with womxn, to nurture wonderment and peace in our souls..
- Renata Buziak: Merge with nature through the lens of art and science with Renata Buziak as she unveils the transformative power of plants with her biochrome art during the retreat. Then on Sunday you can engage in her cyanotype workshop to craft your own nature-inspired artwork, embodying the retreat's essence.

HOW TO GET HERE:
If travelling by car from Brisbane, it is just 45 minutes to Toondah Harbour, in Cleveland and 45 minutes by vehicle ferry to our island.
By public transport, train will bring you from Brisbane to Cleveland and connecting bus to the water taxi which takes 25 minutes to get to the island. Island bus service will meet you on the other side and drop you direct to the Point Lookout Hall. Easy! Bus and train fares at the moment are just 50c, and if you catch the 7.45 am walk on water taxi you will have time to visit Home Beach for a swim.
We offer an opportunity to retreat for the day. Let us look after you for the day. Scheduled to start at 9.30am. Yummy vegetarian cuisine is on the schedule for lunch. Coffee available across the road.

WHAT TO BRING:
- Journaling is a wonderful practice to foster- for taking notes, drawing, jotting down any ideas, visions or perceptions that come.
- Bring a yoga mat, cushion, eye mask and warm covering for the meditation content of the day, at your discretion. Plenty of chairs and tables provided.
- Bring water bottle and food for any special dietary requirements you may have.
A NOTE ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY
We are an event friendly to all genders, generations and cultures. The venue is accessible to those of differing abilities and mobilities. Doors open at 9am.
THE ISLAND
The ancient sand and waters of North Stradbroke Island, is known as Minjerribah or Terrangeri to the Quandamooka Peoples. It is surrounded by the salt waters of the Coral Sea; fresh waters lakes and ecosystems within the island; wet and wild bush land throughout its interior; surrounded by surf beaches and mangroves on the bay side. The island is dense with animals, birds and sea creatures who make themselves known to us in surprising ways.
