The Break Down
Event description
Location: St Albans Community Centre OR online via Zoom!
Date: Tuesdays 3rd May - 7th June
Time: 2pm - 5pm
For any emerging artists aged 18-25 interested in developing professional skills to support a career in the creative industries.
Emcee and music producer 1/6 (Aaron Stephanus) built his profile from the ground up: networking, performing in venues large and small across Melbourne, and writing, producing and releasing albums. He’s learned a lot in that time, and now he wants to share those lessons with you. If you’re an up-and-coming artist, musician or producer, with something to share with the world but not sure about the nitty gritty of getting it out there, this workshop series is for you.
The Break Down is a creative development workshop centred around the behind the scenes of producing a musical project, with this intensive focussed on the process of making an EP. 1/6 and participants will unpack all the elements from synthesis to final product, discussing ideas and approaches to everything from budgeting, song registration and creative art direction to mixing/mastering stages and beyond.
Over the course of 6 weeks, the workshop will cover topics including:
- How to become a member of a royalty collection agency (APRA-AMCOS, etc)
- ABN registration
- Songwriting and collaboration processes
- Visual and Art direction
- Mixing and Mastering
- Budgeting and grant writing
Come through for a networking opportunity to harness the knowledge of life experience through a community of creatives in the West!
Please note: in line with our COVID Safe plan, participants are required to be vaccinated. You will be required to check-in to the venue, show proof of vaccination and wear a mask for the duration of the workshop.
