      About the event

The Australian Alliance to End Homelessness (AAEH) is offering two online training sessions on the Australian Homelessness Vulnerability Triage Tool (AHVTT), the new tool set to replace the Vulnerability Index – Service Prioritisation Decision Assistance Training Tool (VI-SPDAT). Starting from 1 October 2024, we aim to support the use of the AHVTT across the Advance to Zero (AtoZ) movement.

In-person training on the AHVTT will be provided within AtoZ communities and everyone to undertake the training in person where possible. These two online sessions are offered to allow those who are unable to attend the training in-person to receive the support they need to confidently administer the new AHVTT.

As the in-person training is scheduled the dates will be included on the AAEH website events page and shared via updates to the AAEH mailing list.

Join us for an engaging learning experience where you'll explore:

      • The development of the tool, including insights from people with lived experience of homelessness and First Nations people
      • Key differences between the VI-SPDAT and the AHVTT
      • An introduction to the tool and the resources available to support its use
      • Application of the tool in triage, case management, practice improvement, policy, and systems reform
      • The relationship to data collection and impact
      • Cultural engagement framework and safety in the use of the tool
      • Support available to you and your organisation for considering or using the tool.

You’ll also learn about the AAEH AHVTT Community of Practice (CoP), which is supporting the implementation of the tool nationwide.

No prior familiarity with the VI-SPDAT, the AHVTT, or involvement in the movement is required.

      Other training dates

Additional training sessions will be scheduled closer to the rollout dates in each state, and will include both in-person and online training. Information will be available on the AAEH website events page. In-person training on the AHVTT will be provided within AtoZ communities. Everyone is encouraged to undertake the training in person where possible.
