Online Book Discussion - ANADITJ by Denise Champion
Event description
Dear friends,
I would love you to join me to read and discuss Aunty Rev Denise Champion's book ANADITJ on zoom together on a few Sunday afternoons, 4-5pm Sydney/Melbourne/Canberra time. I was privileged to be gifted a copy of the book during the recent Wellspring Community Listening Pilgrimage.
Dates: Sunday 14 April 2024, Sunday 19 May 2024, Sunday 16 June 2024, and to be confirmed Sunday 14 July 2024 from Kaurna Country.
We will share our favourite parts of the book, what it means to us, and discuss questions we have. We can send a message of gratitude to the author herself.
To prepare to join me, please order your book from Mediacom in Adelaide. The book costs $29.95 plus $11.95 postage to my home in Kariong NSW, on GuriNgai land, so $41.90. https://www.mediacomeducation.org.au/shop/anaditj/
Please register by getting a free ticket here on Humanitix.
Aunty Rev Denise tells us: “One of the reasons I want to write this book is because I don’t sit easily with Western theology. It is so different to my Adnyamathanha understanding of Anaditj, the way things are. There’s a much older story that has stood the test of time in this land of the universal Christ and the birth of the universal church that is not being acknowledged. As Aboriginal peoples we hold knowledge, understanding, and wisdom that not only our own, but all peoples, need to learn from – language for God, wisdom for God’s people, and challenge for the way ahead. For the church to be complete, our voices must be heard.”
