Event description
This online event is now booked out. However, a second online event has been opened up for Wednesday 29 June from 4pm - 6pm.Â
You can book for that event HERE
Join us for an online community forum to have your say on the draft National Disability Advocacy Framework 2022-2025.
Disability advocacy helps to protect the rights of people with disability. It supports them to take part in the community and have a say in decisions that affect them.
The Department of Social Services is holding community forums to get feedback on a new draft National Disability Advocacy Framework 2022-2025.
Please register by 24 June 2022.
About the Framework
The Framework aims to ensure all people with disability can access effective advocacy services and support in a changing environment.
It is a shared commitment between federal, state and territory governments to improving access and outcomes for people with disability.
Who should attend the forum?
The forum is for people with disability and their families, carers, advocates and other interested stakeholders to talk about and provide input on what is important to improve and include in the new Framework.
How to take part in the forum
Please register to take part in the community forum
The online forum will run for 2 hours on Zoom.
You will be emailed a link to join the forum closer to the date of the event. The link will be sent to the email address you used to register.
During the forum, we will use an online engagement tool called Mentimeter to get your feedback. You will be given a code to access the questions in menti.com during the forum.Â
If you have accessibility requirements, please tell us about these when registering. Auslan and live captioning is available.
What will the forums cover?Â
This is an opportunity to have your say on the new Framework, including:
- Aspects of the draft Framework that are most important to you
- The extent to which the draft Framework helps to advance disability advocacy
- Anything that needs to be improved, changed or added to the draft Framework.Â
