The Confident Facilitator Community of Practice is a dynamic and supportive online network that meets every second month. Members come together to share insights, tools, and experiences that strengthen their ability to lead powerful and productive conversations. 

This group is designed for members of Business Women Australia (BWA) who are committed to lifelong learning, professional growth, and mastery in facilitation. It offers a space to explore challenges, exchange ideas, and deepen the art and science of guiding groups with confidence and impact.

Meet Cathy Turner 

Cathy Turner is a dedicated leader in the NDIS sector and Director of Essential Plan Support Services, known for her practical, transparent, and participant-centred approach to plan management.

Working closely within the day-to-day operations of the business, Cathy ensures accurate and compliant claims processing, timely payments, clear budget visibility, and reliable financial record-keeping. Her focus is on making plan management straightforward, consistent, and easy to navigate for participants and support coordinators alike.

Cathy leads with integrity, clear communication, and a strong understanding of role boundaries, ensuring all services are delivered in line with NDIS requirements while maintaining trust, professionalism, and transparency at every step.

Meet Tanya Gawthorne

Tanya Gawthorne is a facilitator, strategic planning consultant, and founder of Balanced Consulting, an independent practice that creates conversations for clarity.

She works with individuals, teams, and organisations navigating complexity, change, and pressure — helping people make sense of challenges, align around what matters, and move forward with greater clarity, wisdom, and purpose.

Drawing on experience across health, environment, community, government, and not-for-profit sectors, Tanya combines strategic thinking, facilitation, coaching, and systems perspectives to support thoughtful decision-making and sustainable ways forward.

Her work spans strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, leadership development, rest and restoration, and reflective conversations about life, work, and change.

With qualifications in environmental science, public health, and applied epidemiology, Tanya brings an interdisciplinary perspective to every conversation — bridging human and environmental dimensions of individual, organisational, and community wellbeing.
