We have another amazing event coming up on the 15th October with our lovely She Sharp Alumni, Ruth James speaking at the Event! The event is to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day! In sponsorship with Xero!
Ada Lovelace Day was founded in 2009 by Suw Charman-Anderson to celebrate the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
Our amazingly talented speaker, Ruth James is going to do the same by telling us about her journey in tech. Ruth fell into the NZ tech industry by complete fluke when she arrived in the country thirteen years ago! Her first job was as a receptionist for a tech company (Fronde), since then she’s worked for a number of New Zealand technology companies and currently works at Xero as their Tech Outreach and Engage Coordinator. In the last seven years she has become increasingly active in encouraging the next generation of Kiwi’s into the tech sector. She has thrown herself at every opportunity going where she can help enable, inspire and encourage school and university students to pursue a career in tech.
