DEI 2.0: How 'Equality' is Shifting in 2025
Description
The More Voices More Representation on International Women’s Day campaign is proud to be hosting its own online International Women’s Day event shining a spotlight on intersectional voices and experts, as we discuss the potential emergence of DEI 2.0, and how our understanding, definition, and advocacy for ‘equality’ is shifting in 2025.
Whether corporates were ready for it or not, the DEI landscape has shifted drastically in the last year and 2025 is looking to be no different. While some companies are scaling back their DEI initiatives, others are doubling down on their commitments.
This discussion is sure to spark new debates, questions, and ideas, with a speaker lineup committed to telling it like it is while contributing to discussions that help working professionals, business leaders, and everyday Australians navigate the year ahead with confidence and an honest view of any potential changes.
The event will kick off with a keynote speech by Ruhee Meghani, Founder and Lead Facilitator, at the Allied Collective, who will put into context the newly launched research findings from the campaign that detail the various complexities and nuances in how women across Australia are feeling included or excluded, and how this will impact their vote at the upcoming federal election.
As well as emceeing the event, Tasneem Chopra OAM, CEO of The Culture Lens, will also moderate a panel discussion with a range of industry experts, who will unpack:
- Is there a DEI 2.0 coming in 2025? What does it look like?
- What does ‘equality’ actually mean in 2025, or is DEI and its associated terms getting too caught up in semantics?
- What can we reasonably expect from Australian workplaces in 2025 when it comes to DEI? Should we hope for more?
- What are the major shifts in discussions around ‘equality’ and what does this mean for working professionals, the upcoming federal election, and everyday Australians?
