Let’s Talk: Trauma & PTSD Experiences in Women

Wednesday, 21 October 2026 | 12PM - 1PM (Melbourne time)

Online via Zoom | Free Registration

As part of the Mental Health Foundation Australia’s 8th National Multicultural Mental Health Month, join us for an insightful conversation about Trauma and PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) experiences in women. Trauma can impact how we see ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. Sometimes, the ways we respond to difficult experiences are not signs that something is wrong with us, they may be patterns that once helped us cope and feel safe.

What We’ll Explore?

How trauma shapes us: Understanding how difficult experiences can influence our thoughts, feelings, relationships and responses.

How experiences can follow us into adulthood: Exploring how patterns developed during challenging experiences can sometimes continue long after the original circumstances have changed.

How we can create new patterns: Looking at seeking support as a process of understanding ourselves with greater compassion, recognising what has helped us survive and developing strategies that support the life we are creating now.

Featuring Dianne Simboro

Trauma & PTSD Support Group Facilitator, Mental Health Foundation Australia

Dianne Simboro facilitates two Trauma & PTSD Support Groups for the Mental Health Foundation Australia and brings both lived experience and more than 15 years of professional experience supporting women affected by trauma, PTSD, family violence and coercive control. Through peer support, Dianne has seen people move from feeling isolated towards recognising their strengths, rebuilding trust in themselves and developing practical strategies for challenging moments.

For Dianne, recovery is not about forgetting what has happened. It is about understanding ourselves with compassion, recognising the patterns that may have once helped us cope, and discovering new ways forward.

This webinar is designed to be informative, supportive and non-judgemental. You are welcome to listen, reflect and take what feels helpful for you. You don't need to share your personal experiences to participate. Together, we'll explore how understanding our experiences can create space for change, connection and hope.

This webinar is proudly presented by the Mental Health Foundation Australia as part of the 8th National Multicultural Mental Health Month 2026
