Online Blended Mental Health First Aid Course
Event description
Become a Mental Health First Aider today with instructor Cassandra Roberts from Finding Your Wild Potential.
The Online Blended MHFA Community Course is a great option for participants who may be time-poor, or unable to attend an in-person MHFA course. The course comprises of two components:
Component 1: The self-paced eLearning (5-7 hours) component of the course that is to be completed in your own time via the Mental Health First Aid Australia’s eLearning platform and is to be completed before we meet on Saturday the 30th of November.
Component 2: The Instructor-led online video conferencing session delivered via Teams with Cassandra.
Becoming a Mental Health First Aider means you can:
- Intervene early. Recognise the warning signs of mental health problems in your loved ones.
- Offer Support. Learn the skills to have an open, supportive conversation about mental health.
- Respond in a crisis. Respond across a range of crisis situations where someone may be at risk of harm.
- Reduce stigma. Reduce stigma and increase support for people experiencing and living with mental health problems.
Using a practical, skills-based action plan (Affectionately known as ALGEE), you will learn the skills to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis, until professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
