Online Mental Health First Aid course
Workplace Training | 100% online delivery.

Facilitated sessions (after completion of prior eLearning):
Monday 3rd February & Tuesday 4th February 2025 (participants must attend both days)
9:30AM - 12:00PM AEST - Brisbane Time both days 
Online via Zoom

About the course:
The Standard MHFA course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis, as well as learning the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health conditions, where and how to get professional help, what sort of support has been shown to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a mental health crisis.

This course is funded by the QGCBF grant and in collaboration with the Multicultural Community Connect Queensland (MCCQ) and Ethnic Communities Council Queensland (ECCQ).

Blended Online Delivery:

Course Component 1 - Self-paced eLearning component (5-7 hours to complete). eLearning must be completed before attending facilitated sessions with instructor.
Course Component 2
 - Instructor-led facilitated sessions using Zoom video conferencing (2 x 2.5-hour sessions). Zoom links will only be sent after completion of eLearning.

After completing the course, you will be given a link to complete the Accreditation Assessment by Mental Health First Aid Australia. If you pass the assessment, you will receive a digital Certificate of Accreditation which lasts 3 years.

Course Fee:
$299 plus GST and booking fee per person

Membership discount:

MHFA Individual membership (1 year): $30 (enables 1 member to access member discounted MHFAid training)
MHFA Organisation membership (1 year): $100 (enables 5 staff to access member discounted MHFAid training)

Re-sitting Fee:
Due to the limited capacity, if you miss your booking, there is a re-sitting fee of $175 plus Humanitix booking fee to book into another course. If you are booking a spot to re-sit the course, please contact the organiser via email (jotpreet.kaur@mhfa.org.au) to get the discount code for checkout.

IMPORTANT (please read carefully before booking):

  • Please book using your personal email and mobile number - this is used to create your profile on Mental Health First Aid Australia's platform. Shared email accounts are not permitted. If, over time, you lose access to the email account you registered with (i.e. work email), you will also lose access to your Mental Health First Aid account.
  • After your booking has been finalised, you will be contacted via email with further instructions to access your Mental Health First Aid account dashboard and eLearning modules.
  • Please note, you MUST complete component 1 eLearning before you can attend the Zoom sessions. Links will not be sent until this is done.
  • Zoom sessions:
    • It is a training compliance requirement that the instructor must see your video on throughout the entire session. No moving around/changing locations/shifting backgrounds while in session.
    • You will be doing role-play scenarios, so make sure you join the sessions from a stationary, private and quiet location with no background noises/distractions.
    • Please ensure you use a computer/laptop with a working webcam for the Zoom sessions. If you must use a mobile device, please ensure to have your phone set sideways (landscape orientation) on a stable surface. You MUST NOT move around with your device while in session. 
    • Join at least 15-30 minutes earlier for technical testing. The instructor is usually logged on 30 minutes prior. Sessions start on time. Participants who join late or cannot have video and sound on by the start time will be excluded from the session, and marked as absent.
  • Re-sitting fee applies if you miss your booked sessions, as numbers are limited and you have taken a booking. For online delivery, you must attend both Zoom sessions booked. 
  • The instructor may postpone the course to a later date if the minimum number of participants required has not been met.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
