Event description
This is an evening to share about Rites of Passage and the Mother / Daughter program we will be running. You will get to meet the facilitators, connect to other parents also interested in this work, ask any questions and discover more about this unique work from our facilitators.
WHAT IS A RITES OF PASSAGE?
A Rites of Passage is a transition from one stage of life to another, which may include new roles and responsibilities. Eg. child to adult, maiden to mother, mother to elder, etc.
A Rites of Passage program is a held container supporting and initiating someone through the transition phase, that is designed to create/support shifts in their inner landscape and the way they see the world, catalysing a new level of empowerment and capability for the new responsibilities ahead.
THE INTENTION OF THIS CAMP IS...
to offer the daughters of our community an opportunity to receive a supported initiation, that is a necessary part of the child to adult transition where we pass on the relevant wisdom they are ready to receive. These initiations have been apart of tribes for thousands of years and somewhere along the way got lost. However, they are vital for passing on the knowledge, wisdom, story telling and embodied experiences for youth to gracefully step into their next phase. Without these programs kids often have initiations through less supported means, such as substance abuse and high risk situations.

Who is this for:
The parents or care takers of the daughter who is ready for this initiation. We encourage both parents to come if they can.

- Consider any questions you may have for the facilitators in relation to the Rites of Passage work, or the camps.
NEXT RITES OF PASSAGE CAMP DETAILS:
- DATES: September 22nd to 27th 2023
- LOCATION: 5 nights staying at Che Sara Sara Property based in Walpole
- COST: $1,850 includes both mother & daughter
- Accepting young women of age 15 - 18
- Mother or "Aunty" (predominant female support) attends along side the young woman
- Food included
- A variety of workshops designed to support your daughter to transition to young womanhood. Creating more self awareness, teaching self regulation, women's health and that cover emotional, mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. Plus much more!
