Online Standard MHFA Refresher Course
Event description
The course cost is $159 (including GST & ticketing fees) and includes a MHFA Manual posted & a zoom session from 8.30am to 1.30pm (SA time) facilitated by Dianne.
The standard MHFA refresher course is a 5 hour online course that allow people who have previously completed a 12 hour Mental Health First Aid course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the refresher courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.
The content of each refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
This course gives participants an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learnt during the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course. You will:
- Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
- Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
- Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
- Practice mental health first aid skills.
