Event description

Learn the tools of the sustainability trade

Whether you're stepping into a sustainability role, or seeking to embed it into your everyday work, this course will guide and support you. Over the course of twelve curated online sessions, our experts will enable you to develop a real-world sustainability strategy tailored to the organisation of your choice.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Apply sustainability and related concepts to today's business challenges

  • Understand the role of biodiversity and human behaviour in sustainable decision-making

  • Contribute to positive change in Aotearoa and beyond

This course is for:

  • Early-stage sustainability professionals looking to build confidence and capability

  • Business or operations professionals tasked with sustainability in their organisation

  • Policy advisors or public sector professionals focused on sustainability or positive social change

  • Consultants or advisors wanting to strengthen their sustainability skill set

  • Curious learners ready to make a meaningful contribution to a better future

Course structure and expectations
This 12-week online course combines live learning and independent study:

  • 6 x 1-hour live facilitated sessions (fortnightly)

  • 5 x 1-hour peer cohort sessions (fortnightly)

  • 1 x final project presentation

  • Weekly pre-reading and homework (2–4 hours per week)

  • Total time commitment: ~3–6 hours per week

To earn your certificate, you’ll need to attend at least 80% of sessions and submit your final project: a sustainability strategy outline.

Register for the 2026 cohort

The next cohort runs from Thursday, 7 May to Thursday, 30 July 2026.
All weekly sessions take place from 12–1 pm on Thursdays, with a week off on Thursday 16 July.

Registrations close four weeks before the course start date. The course requires a minimum number of participants to run, and we will confirm once registrations close if the course will go ahead.
