As part of Mental Health Foundation Australia’s 8th National Multicultural Mental Health Month, join us this World Mental Health Day for an engaging and insightful online conference exploring women’s mental health and wellbeing across cultures, communities and life stages. This year’s theme, “Supporting Women’s Mental Health Every Day,” shines a light on the many experiences that can shape women’s wellbeing and the importance of creating safe, supportive spaces where women can feel heard, understood and connected.

Keynote Speaker: Professor Jayashri Kulkarni AM
Professor Jayashri Kulkarni is an internationally recognised leader in women’s mental health, with expertise in reproductive hormones and mental illness. She is Professor of Psychiatry at Monash University and The Alfred and founded and directs HER Centre Australia and the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc). Professor Kulkarni has led pioneering clinical research in women’s mental health and developed Australia’s first women’s mental health hospital at Cabrini Health. In 2019, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for her services to medicine.
Guest Speaker: Aneka Srinivasan | Senior Psychologist, Elysium Psychology
Aneka Srinivasan takes a client-centred and collaborative approach, supporting individuals to work towards their therapy goals, build resilience and reach their potential. Her therapeutic practice draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Humanistic and Solution-Focused approaches. Aneka is also bilingual in English and Tamil, supporting greater accessibility for people from diverse language backgrounds.
Moderator: Amanda Cops | Support Groups Administrator – MHFA & Bipolar Life, President, Bipolar Life
Amanda Cops is a lived-experience mental health professional with Mental Health Foundation Australia and President of Bipolar Life. She manages support group program for the Mental Health Foundation Australia & Bipolar Life, mental health student placements for the Foundation and is a Brains Trust member of the Centre of Research Excellence in Bipolar Disorder (CORE-BD). Amanda also works across academia, research and consumer-focused mental health initiatives.
Panel Member: Dianne Simboro | Family Violence Recovery Coach, Trainer & Behavioural Profiler
Dianne Simboro is a survivor of family violence and has spent more than 12 years supporting women affected by violence. She specialises in recovery-focused support and facilitates Family Violence Support Groups in collaboration with Mental Health Foundation Australia, delivered in a hybrid format for women across Australia.
Panel Member: Karin Smith
Karin Smith is the Executive Assistant to Professor Jane Fisher within the Global and Women’s Health Unit at Monash University. Her previous experience includes coordinating the clinical occupational medicine program at the Monash Centre Occupational and Environmental Health.
